Mumbai, June 11 (UNI) Extradited gangster Abu Salem was remanded in judicial custody till June 29 by the designated TADA court here today.

Salem was produced before TADA court judge P D Kode after he was brought back to Mumbai from Delhi last evening.

It was Judge Kode who had earlier granted permission to Delhi Police to take custody of Salem in response to a warrant issued by the Tis Hazari Court in an extortion case. The Delhi Police wanted to interrogate Salem in connection with the extortion case.

Salem was brought back to Mumbai last evening and officers of Mumbai Police produced him before Judge Kode who remanded him in judicial custody till June 29.

It may be recalled that Judge Kode has separated the trials of Salem, his associate Riyaz Siddiqui and Mustafa Dossa in the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts case. Judge Kode has already conducted trials into the 1993 blasts case involving the other accused and has convicted 100 of them. He has also passed sentences upon 73 of these convicts so far.
