Rs 1.25 crore hawala cash seized

Indore, June 11 (UNI) Police arrested four people and seized more than Rs one crore of hawala money from an Ahmedabad-bound bus on Dhar road here.

Superintendent of Police Anshuman Yadav said on a tip off, police conducted a search and found more than Rs 1.23 crore in cash from the bags and jackets of four people on Saturday night.

During interrogation, accused Madhav Bhai Patel, Amish Patel, Bharat Patel and Naresh Patel- all residents of Gujarat's Mehasana district- denied any hawala transaction and said the cash belonged to their firm.

Police suspected the source of such huge liquid cash and handed over the case to the Income Tax department.
