RPF men heckle CPM's Nabadwip MP

Kalyani, Jun 11 (UNI) CPI(M) MP from Nabadwip Alokesh Das was today allegedly heckled by RPF jawans when he tried to stop them from evicting hawkers in Kalyani station in Eastern Railways' Sealdah division.

Mr Das, who is a member of the Railways Standing Committee, had gone to the station to intervene on behalf of the hawkers when he was allegedly pushed around and heckled by the jawans.

Later, agitated supporters of CITU, the CPI(M)'s trade wing, squatted on railway tracks. They, however, withdrew it after twenty minutes in view of the examinations in the Kalyani University.

The RPF, however, postponed till Friday the removal of hawkers from the platforms.
