Punjab govt to bear expenses of Bhagat Singh's statue

Chandigarh, June 11 (UNI) Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal announced here today that the total expenses for the installation of Shaheed Bhagat Singh's statue in Parliament House would be borne by the Punjab government.

Announcing this here today, the Chief Minister said, ''This will be a humble tribute from the Punjabi community to the great martyr.'' Mr Badal said the services of a renowned sculptor were being sought for installation of the statue.

''Installation of statue of Shaheed Bhagat Singh in Parliament House has fulfilled the long pending demand of all the patriotic citizens of the country,'' he said.
