Mystery shrouds death of dismissed policeman
Nagpur, June 11 (UNI) Mystery shrouds the death of a former policeman, dismissed from service a few years back, who is believed to have fallen from the fourth floor of a building here.
According to police, the body of the former constable, identified as Chintaman Pande (45), was found this morning in the courtyard of the building where he lived.
Pande lived on the ground floor, but used to sleep on the fourth floor terrace of the building at night, the police said. This had led to suspicion that Pande died some time last night, they said.
However, it was not yet clear if it was an accident or Pande had committed suicide, the police said.
Pande had been dismissed from service in 2001 after he opened fire at a person from his service gun, they said.
The body had been sent for post-mortem and the report was awaited, police added.
