Malaria claims 30 lives in Nalbari, Baksa
Guwahati, June 11 (UNI) Malaria has claimed 30 lives in Nalbari and Baska districts near the Assam-Bhutan border. However, unofficial sources put the toll at 55.
District Malaria Officer Rabin Talukdar today informed that most of the deaths were reported from interior areas of Mukalmua, Tamulpur and Musalpur circles of Baska district.
Mr Talukdar admitted that this time the disease has spread to Mukalmua, Chamata and Kathalkuchi villages in alarming proportions.
Earlier, these areas were totally free from malaria, he added.
