Hexaware bags $18 mln order from Japanese firm

New Delhi, June 11 (UNI) In its largest ever Asia-Pacific (APAC) deal, Software firm Hexaware Technologies Ltd has secured an order worth 18 million dollars in the first phase from a Japanese system integrator.

Under the deal, the company will develop a core bespoke application for the IT modernisation of the Postal department of a South East Asian country, it said in a statement today.

The company is likely to deploy over 150 software developers for this multi-year logistics engagement. The deal will be primarily, be serviced out of Pune, which hosts company's highly specialised Japanese Centre of Excellence.

''Almost 20 per cent of the company's APAC revenues are generated from Japan and revenues are likely to double over the next four to six quarters,'' Senior Vice President-APAC region Yogendra Shah said.

Japan's IT market is ranked second next only to the United States and is one of the leading markets for the company in the APAC region. Hexaware, in Japan, works with local partners who offer account management and provide onsite resources.

Over the last 15 months, the company has opened new sales offices in Thailand, Sydney, Melbourne and Hong Kong.
