HC summons ADG traffic over encroachments

Lucknow, June 11 (UNI) Hearing a PIL seeking removal of encroachments resulting in traffic snarls in the Uttar Pradesh capital, the Lucknow Bench of Allahabad High Court today summoned ADG (traffic) on June 14.

A division bench comprising Justices Devi Prasad Singh and J M Paliwal passed the order on a PIL filed by Manju Singh.

The petitioner stated that common people were posed with hardships due to massive traffic jams in Aminabad, Chowk, Nakhas, Naka Hindola and other places here.

He added that due to negligence of the Municipal Corporation, Lucknow Development Authority (LDA), Housing Board and District Administration, a number of encroachments had come up causing traffic snarls.

Mr Singh mentioned that there was hardly any space left for parking.
