Haryana: Subsidy on bank interest to SC loanees

Chandigarh, June 11 (UNI) The Haryana Government has earmarked a sum of Rs 50 lakh for the current financial year to provide subsidy in the rate of interest of the mini banks by seven per cent to the members belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC) who are not defaulter in repayment of their loans.

Haryana Minister of State for Cooperation Meena Mandal today said the Government had planned to benefit about 14000 persons during the current financial year under the scheme.

As many as 5400 persons had availed benefit under the scheme during the last financial year, she added.

Under the provisions of the scheme, she said the persons belonging to Scheduled Castes who would repay their loans to the mini banks without any default would get seven per cent subsidy in the interest rate.
