Former MP Anand Mohan files anticipatory bail

Patna, Jun 11 (UNI) Former MP from Bihar Anand Mohan today filed an anticipatory bail before the district and sessions judge of Patna in connection with a case of manhandling the husband of a JD(U) MLA and illegal use of firearms.

District and sessions judge Mandhata Singh fixed June 12 as the date for hearing on the bail petition of Anand Mohan.

According to the charges, the former MP manhandled Surendra Singh, husband of JD(U) MLA Asha Devi, in a marraige party. He was also booked with the charge of illegal use of firearms.

An FIR was registered under different sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and under Arms Act in Patliputra police station area of the state capital on May 3,2007.
