UP: Farmer commits suicide

Lucknow, June 11: Driven by abject poverty, a farmer hanged himself from the ceiling fan in Sitapur district of Uttar Pradesh.

Police today said Hanuman Prasad Rawat of Rajpur Pratap village was facing under penury. He had taken a loan of Rs 1.5 lakh from a bank.

Late last night, Hanuman took the extreme step after he failed to repay the loan.

Investigations were on.
