Dadua's brother detained for 2nd day

Lucknow, June 11 (UNI) The Special Task Force (STF) of Uttar Pradesh Police today continued with its interrogation of detained dreaded dacoit Dadua's brother Bal Kumar Patel.

Patel and some other persons were taken in custody during a raid at the former's house in Rae Bareli district late yesterday.

The cops also seized five licensed weapons and as many vehicles.

The raid was conducted following a ''confirmed'' reports that Dadua, carrying a reward of Rs 5 lakh on his head, was present there. However, he had managed to hoodwink the police.

Secretary (home) Avinash Srivastava said here the license of three weapons were under the names of Bal Kumar, his wife and driver.

Bal Kumar had contested the recent Uttar Pradesh Vidhan Sabha poll from Patti assembly segment of Pratapgarh on a SP ticket.

As many as five cases are pending against him in Chitrakoot, while two in Rae Bareli. Police is also probing as to how the weapons were issued to a history-sheeter.
