CPM activist shot dead by

Midnapore, Jun 11 (UNI) CPI(M) activist Bikash Maity(35) was shot dead after being tracked down near Dumuria, his home village, under Jamboni police station, this afternoon, police said.

About eight-ten Jharkhand Party supporters fired at him from close range.

Bikash's name figures in the police records for giving shelter to notorious dacoits in the area.

No arrest has yet been made.
