Hyderabad, June 11 (UNI) In a major breakthrough, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today reached an agreement with all unions of government employees and teachers on the implementation of GO 610.

Dr Reddy also appointed a Committee under the Chairmanship of Chief Secretary with representatives of various employees organisations as members to regularly review the implementation of the GO.

Talking to newspersons here, after the meeting, Dr Reddy said the government was committed to implement the GO 610, which would be completed by the end of this month.

He said the Committee would initially meet every Saturday till the process was completed to an extent.

To a question, the Chief Minister said according to a rough estimate, apart from the police and education departments, the number of employees to be repatriated from Telangana, Andhra and Rayalaseema regions would be around 6000.

Leaders of different employees and teachers unions had assured the government of their full cooperation in implementing the GO.

Sources in the CM's office said the employees organisations from Telangana, who gave a call of 'Quit Telangana', were pleased with the outcome of the meeting and they offered to wait for one more month for the implementation of the GO.

However, the Chief Minister told them that the government was duty bound to implement the GO by the end of June 2007.

The government also clarified the doubts expressed by the Telangana employees about the recently issued GO 399, which gave an impression that a certain percentage of jobs would be reserved for non-locals.

Chief Secretary J Harinarayana assured the employees representatives that the government would issue a corrigendum to the GO to remove the apprehensions of the Telangana employees.
