Bhopal, June 11 (UNI) Riding on the success in Uttar Pradesh assembly elections, the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) has decided to adopt similar strategy of roping in 'Sarva Samaj (all sections)' in Madhya Pradesh.

''At present, our focus is on those areas in Madhya Pradesh adjoining Uttar Pradesh. However, the strategy would be adopted in other parts as well,'' state BSP President Bhujbal Singh Ahirwar told UNI.

''The process of forming committees for upper class and Muslim sections is underway and reaction received from these sections by the party is positive,'' he said, adding that the party could emerge ''Chhupa Rustam'' during next assembly elections.

On whether it was early to comment on the BSP's truck with the upper class in Uttar Pradesh, Mr Ahirwar said the alliance was not an opportunist one. BSP Founder Kanshiram also wanted this and the party had brought together all sections as a well-thought out strategy.

He claimed that the BSP was seeing better prospects in around 50-60 seats during the next assembly elections. The party would enter the electoral battle with a strategy for all 230 seats.

Regarding the Congress benefitting from the BSP's decision to not field its candidate during recent Shivpuri assembly by-election, he said the decision was not taken with the intention to benefit the Congress.

Mr Ahirwar said the BSP had ideological and political differences with both the Congress and the BJP. Under such circumstances, no question arose for having friendly attitude towards them.

The BSP leader said the party's public base in the state had weakened because of frequent changes in leadership due to certain disputes. The changes occurred in the wake of deviation from the party's strategy. However, party workers were not disheartened.

In fact, the decisions had sent across the message that organisation and not a person was important for the party.

On some BSP leaders questioning his leadership saying that no one had heard his name, Mr Ahirwar said there was no difference of opinion in the party.
