Broadband service resumes after four days
Kohima, June 11: The BSNL broadband internet services, which were continuously down since the past four days, resumed connections here today.
The BSNL broadband connections were down throughout Nagaland since May 27 for the past ten days. On June 6, it was claimed to be restored, but failed again from the very next day and was finally restored again during the day.
The BSNL officials, when asked about their failure, said some cables were disrupted in Asom due to which the internet was down.
Many landlines of Kohima and Dimapur were disconnected by the BSNL for alleged non-payment of ten-year-old bills and some of them were restored only after paying the bills.
Meanwhile, after receiving complaints from several top government officials, the Nagaland government has taken up the matter with Union Communication Ministry to improve services by transferring out some of the BSNL staff for allegedly providing very poor services.
Official sources said those consumers, whose services were disconnected citing ten-year-old bills, could file suits in the law courts or in the Consumers' Forum.
