BJP wants non-Hindu employees out of Endowments Dept

Hyderabad, June 11 (UNI) The Bharatiya Janata Party in Andhra Pradesh today demanded the repatriation of all non-Hindu employees from the Endowments department to other departments.

Talking to mediapersons here, party State President Bandaru Dattatreya said it was not proper to have non-Hindu employees working in the department.

He appealed to the State Government to pressurise the Centre to bestow 'Divya Kshetra' status on Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD).

The BJP leader said that though the State Government had notified two GOs, one prohibiting the propagation of other religions on Tirumala hills and the other to protect the sanctity of the seven hills of Tirumala, only under pressure from religious institutions, his party welcomed the move.
