BJP expresses surprise over Thind's reinstatement
Mandi, Jun 11 (UNI) Expressing surprise over the reinstatement of suspended ADGP B S Thind and posting him as Additional Director General (Home Guards), state BJP president Jai Ram Thakur said the government seems to have learnt no lesson from the party's defeat in the parliamentary elections.
Talking to mediapersons here last evening, he said the Congress had lost the Hamirpur by-polls on the issue of corruption and discrimination with certain areas of the state.
Mr Thakur said the ADGP's reinstatement had exposed the real face of the Chief Minister who had been pretending to be a ''crusader against corruption and the corrupt'' for the last many years.
Lamenting at the state government's reasons to revoke his suspension, he said a crime committed here or outside the state would remain a crime and by saying that his cases were outside the state was just an attempt to shield him.
He alleged undue pressure on senior state government officials by the Chief Minister to bail him out.
Accusing the state Congress Government of being neck deep in corruption, he said the people of the state were disillusioned with Congress and its days were numbered.
The results of the Hamirpur Parliamentary elections was an example of that, he said.
Referring to the CD issue, Mr Thakur said there was widespread discontent against Mr Singh and the release of an audio CD was a culmination of that.
