AP allots Rs 75 crore for fisheries development
Eluru, Andhra Pradesh, Jun 11 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Fisheries and Animal Husbandry Minister Mandali Budha Prasad today said the government had allotted Rs 75 crore for the development of fisheries in the state.
Talking to newspersons here, the Minister said the allotted Rs 75 crore would be used to provide infrastructure facilities in fisheries department.
He said the government would supply nets and boats to the fishermen and would try to bring in modern technology to minimise the loss the farmers suffer in aquaculture.
The government would modernise fish markets and fish breeding centers in the state and establish fisheries societies exclusively for women entrepreneurs, besides providing loans on low interest rates to the fisherwomen, he added.
