9 died due to sun stroke in MP

Bhopal, June 11 (UNI) At least 9 people died due to sun stroke in Shivpuri and Morena districts in northern Madhya Pradesh in the past 24 hours taking the death toll in the summer to 13, hospital and police sources said today.

Seven people, including two aged women, died at Dinara village near Karera in Shivpuri district yesterday. The victims were identified as former Sarpanch Sarabjit Singh (80), Arun Dwivedi(50), Babulal Yadav(71), Kalla Ahirwar(46), Rani Yadav(27) and two unidentified women aged 70 and 60 years.

Prima facie, the cause of death is 'loo', hospital sources said.

Ramcharan(80) and Ramjilal Parashar(50 were affected by heat wave while attending a religious function and died at Ratirampura village.

Earlier, two people died in Sheopur and one each in Morena and Bhind districts.

Mercury soared to more than 46 degrees Celsius at different places in northern part of the state.
