Two tribals die of starvation in Kerala

Kalpetta, June 10 (UNI) Two tribals have died allegedly due to starvation and diseases at Manthondikkunnu Paniya colony near Sulthan Bathery of Wayanad district in Kerala.

The deceased were identified as Santha (18) and Nambi (55).

Doctors, who attended the duo, said deficiency of nutrition and poor sanitation had deteriorated their health condition.

According to neighbours, the deceased were living without food for many weeks.

As many as 21 Paniya families were residing at Manthondikunnu colony, where there was neither drinking water available nor proper sanitation.

The crisis in agrarian sector had made their life more miserable as agriculture was their main occupation.
