Special Corporation to implement Rajiv Swagruha Scheme: CM
Hyderabad, June 10 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today said the government has decided to constitute 'Special Corporation' for the successful implementation of Rajiv Swagruha Scheme in the state.
According to an official release here, Dr Reddy said a senior IAS officer would be appointed as MD of the Corporation, ensuring to provide housing facility to every middle class people by acquiring about 1,000 acres of land.
More than 4,500 acres of land had been identified to construct houses under the scheme, he added.
Stating that the government would not compromise in constrcuting houses on par with the standards that requried for long time existence, Dr Reddy said he would convene a high level meeting to sort out the problems about acquistion of lands.
The officials informed the Chief Minister that 1.76 lakh applications had been received so far and its scrutiny would be completed by June end.
