Mysore, June 10 (UNI) The much-awaited 'sound and light show' inside the world famous Mysore Palace will commence during Dasara festival, Tourism Commissioner G Kumar Nayak said today.
Talking to newspersons after a demonstration of the show here, he said the show would be made a regular feature from this Dasara.
Replying to a question about objections raised by the scion of the Royal Family Srikanta Datta Narasimharaja Wadiyar over the revised script, Mr Nayak observed that differences of opinion continue to exist. However, everything would be sorted out soon.
Last year about 26 lakhs tourist visited the Mysore palace and such shows would increase the number further, he added.
The Hindi and English versions of the show, tracing the history of erstwhile Mysore state, were shown during the demonstration.
The 45 minutes show costing about Rs 1.5 crore presents the course of the 600 year of history of Mysore, built as not just a model state, but a unique civilisation in itself, rich in the field of artifacts, music culture, material wealth, besides its people known for both their physical and intellectual powers.
Deputy Commissioner S Selva Kumar said once the show goes on stream, the Kannada version would be there everyday with English and Hindi versions on alternate days. Seating arrangements for about 500 people would be made.
