One constable die in naxal-police encounter

Jagdalpur, Chhattisgarh, June 10 (UNI) One constable was killed during an encounter between naxals and police in Narayanpur district in Bastar division of Chhattisgarh, police said.

Police claimed that three ultras had been shot dead during the encounter. However, no reports about bodies being recovered had been received.

Bastar range Inspector General of Police R K Vij said a police team were patrolling the area when naxalites triggered a blast and opened fire.

Head Constable Dhaniram Usedi received a gunshot and died on the spot.

He said three extremists were killed in retaliatory action. A gun was recovered from the spot.
