Nokia unveils Nseries new edition 'N92'

New Delhi, June 10 (UNI) Leading handset maker Nokia has launched its new Nseries multimedia device -- Nokia N92 -- which is DVB-H enabled handset that supports live broadcast mobile TV.

The service currently comprises eight free-to air Doordarshan Channels -- DD National, DD News, DD Sports, DD Bharati, DD Urdu, DD Punjabi, DD Bangla and DD Podhigai -- supported on DVB-H enabled handsets.

''We aim to capitalise on the booming mobile entertainment market that is expected to reach 10 billion dollars by 2010, as mobile phones have become the preferred mode for information and entertainment,'' Nokia Director (Multimedia) Vineet Taneja said at the launch of N92 in the country.

With the growing popularity of mobile devices and its capability to offer instant access to information and entertainment, this initiative will bring in the perfect synergy between television content and the mobile platform, he added.

This followed the recent launch of DVB-H Mobile TV services by national broadcaster Doordarshan.
