Nine kg heroin recovered in Punjab
Chandigarh, June 10 (UNI) Sleuths of the Directorate of Revenue Enforcement (DRI) today seized nine kg heroin worth Rs nine crore in the international market from Samrala town in Punjab.
According to official sources here, the consignment alongwith counterfeit currency was seized from a shop on Khanna road in Samrala town of Ludhiana district. The exact amount of counterfeit currency was not known as yet.
One person had so far been taken into custody and booked under the NDPS Act. The matter is still under investigation and more arrests or seizures are likely to take place.
