Navy starts drive against epidemics

Kottayam, June 10 (UNI) Navy medical team under the leadership of Surgeon Commander Sanjeev Kumar and surgeon Lt R Malhotra started its three-day Medical Relief Operation from Pampady, near here this evening.

The team, fully equipped with medicines, pesticides and fogging equipment, went to Pampady after an evaluation meeting at the Collectorate.

The team will visit Kanjirappally and Erumely areas tomorrow and Poonjar, Pala and Meenachil areas on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, viral fever claimed three lives in this district today.

The epidemic had claimed eight lives in the district yesterday.
