Move forward on border issue: PM, Hu tell Spl Reps

New Delhi, June 10 (UNI) Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Chinese President Hu Jintao have asked their special representatives on the border dispute to ''move forward'' towards finding an amicable settlement.

Mr Hu ''agreed that our both Special Representatives dealing with the border issue must move forward and both of us expressed that is the direction we will give to our Special Representatives,'' Dr Singh told reporters while returning from Germany.

The two leaders had a bilateral meeting in Berlin on June 7 where they had gone to attend the G8-G5 summit, held at Heiligendamm.

The two special representatives are National Security Advisor M K Narayanan and his Chinese counterpart, Vice Foreign Minister Dai Bingou.

''It was a very warm meeting. We have discussed issues. I did raise the issue of border, cooperation in the management of inter state rivers, exchange of data, flood warning.

''Hu Jintao responded quite positively that they will sit down, they will nominate their representatives on these groups.'' UNI
