Minor girl raped in Kangra

Dharamshala, Jun 10 (UNI) The Himachal Pradesh Police today said it has arrested a 53-year old person in Kangra district of the state for raping a minor girl late on Thursday night.

Amin Chand of Bhali village was arrested late on Thursday night following an alarm raised by her parents who alleged that he had raped their daughter.

The sources said the issue was first taken to the village panchayat, which brought it to the notice of the police who registered a complaint against Amin Chand.

The elderly person has been arrested and the girl has been sent for a medical examination, the sources said.

The parents of the victim are from a economically poor background were forced to discontinue the studies of her daughter after primary education, the sources said, adding that a case has been registered and investigations are on.
