Minister admits to slow progress of Pulichintala project

Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, June 10 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Irrigation Minister K Lakshmayya, who visited the Rs 680 crore Pulichintala Irrigation Project to take stock of the project work, today said the media reports that the works at the project site were slow was true.

The Minister, who was along with other six state ministers at the site, said the progress of work was slow, but the government would complete the project by 2008 end.

Only 20 per cent of the work was completed and Rs 56 crore spent for the project so far.
