Land mine blasts cause tension in Midnapore
Midnapore, June 10 (UNI) A major tragedy was averted today when two land mines planted by the suspected Maoists blasted near Chhurimara village under Belpahari police station minutes before the routine patrol by the security personnel in the place.
Police said the blasts occurred at about 1030 hours near the Chhurimara CRPF camp .
Nobody was injured in the blasts. A large contingent of police led by SP West Midnapur district R Rajshekharan rushed to the spot.
Last Thursday a land mine, planted by the suspected Maoist militants in Lakat, under Lalagarh police station area, ripped apart a police jeep that was returning from an over night patrol here.
