Houston-based Indian evangelist arrested
Hyderabad, Jun 10 (UNI) Houston-based Indian evangelist and founder-head of 'Global Peace Initiative', Kilari Ananda Paul, who recently made serious allegations against AICC President Sonia Gandhi and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy, was arrested for ''lewd and lascivious acts with a minor'' revealed SAJA forum.org, a web site, quoting the Houston Press, recently.
Lieutenant Mitch McCann of the Beverly Hills police department had confirmed that Dr Paul was arrested at a Beverly Hills hotel on suspicion of ''lewd and lascivious acts with a minor'' on April 20.
Houston Press also reported that Paul hung up on its reporter who called him for confirmation.
The site quoting the Houston Press said that the evangelist had abandoned an 11-year-old girl after admitting her in a hospital.
Addressing a press conference here recently Dr Paul alleged that Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy was threatning him as he had rejected to pay a donation of USD five million to the Congress fund during the 2004 election.
One Jessica Lorenz wrote in Houston Press, which invited comment on Paul, that her father was Paul's righthand man till he disappeared on September 3, 2006. She said Paul was the last person who had seen her father and he was refusing to talk to her family members about her father's disappearance.
''I appeal to all the donors out there, who have given or are still giving money to support 'Global Peace Initiative' or to his 'Gospel to the Unheard Millions' to realise that all your money is being used to fund leud and lascivious acts in expensive suites in top dollar hotels around the world,'' she claimed.
One Sam Atherton alleged that Paul left a trail of unpaid bills around the world.
