Rohtak, June 10 (UNI) Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today made it clear that not even a single unit of electricity was being supplied to Delhi and allegations in this regard were baseless.

The Chief Minister, who was interacting with mediapersons here was asked to comment on this claim of his predecessor O P Chautala made at Fatehabad recently.

The present state government has been supplying more power to the consumers as compared to the previous years, he claimed. A number of projects were being set up to increase generation of power, he said.

The Chief Minister pointed out that Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had recently laid the foundation stone of a thermal power station at Hisar and the completion of this project would go a long way in meeting the demand of electricity in the state. The shortage of power was not only in Haryana, but in the entire country, he added.

Mr Hooda said that the government had been purchasing power from various sources to ensure that the consumers get adequate power. He said that he had been very much concerned about the shortage of power and was seriously exploring the possibility of purchasing more power from other sources.

He pointed out that at a function organised in Delhi he had, in the presence of the Prime Minister urged the Central Government to give Haryana more electricity out of the Central pool.
