Girls excel over boys in Uttarakhand Board Examinations
Dehra Dun, June 10 (UNI) Girls outshone boys in the recently published Intermediate as well as High School Examination results of the Uttarakhand Board.
In the Intermediate examination the pass percentage of girls was recorded at 81.53 per cent in comparision to boys' success rate of only 69.07 per cent, while in the High School examination girls recoreded pass per centage of 58.41 per cent and boys were restricted to only 42.62 per cent.
However, the overall pass percentage was impressive as 74.72 per cent students succeeded in the Intermediate Examination of the Uttarakhand Board of Secondary Education (UBSE), while the High School examination recorded for 49.43 per cent success rate.
The first place in the Intermediate examination was jointly attained by Amit Kumar of Dehradun and Jyoti Kotal of Nainital district with 88.80 per cent, while Vikas Kumar of Almora district acquired the highest percentage in the High School examination with 89.20 per cent.
In total 99,500 and 1,72, 000 students had appeared in this year's Intermediate and High School Examinations respectively.
