Chennai, June 10 (UNI) Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare Anbumani Ramadoss today announced that Centre would extend Rs four crore to Kerala government in the wake of a reported outbreak of Chikungunya.

Talking to mediapersons here, he said each affected village in Kerala would get between Rs 10,000 to Rs 20,000 as an immediate relief to tackle the disease.

''A team of doctors has been sent to the affected area to provide relief,'' he said adding Director General of Health Centre Dr Srivastav today visited Kerala and met the health officials concerned to take stock of the situation''.

To a question, he said the alleged death reports due to Chikungunya were wrong since there was no proper survey conducted in the region.

Mr Ramadoss said the Centre would seek a monthly analysis report on Chickungunya from the affected states.

On Tamil Nadu perspective, he said ''Centre has already advised Tamil Nadu to be vigilant especially in the border areas and the government has been asked to take more initiative for a joint action plan to control vector-borne diseases like Chikungunya and Dengue in the region.'' Mr Ramadoss said the Centre was ready to extend any amount to the affected state and fund was not a constraint.
