AIADMK to file complaint with NHRC: Jaya

Salem, June 10 (UNI) AIADMK will lodge a complaint with National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) against the death of one of its cadres in prison here due to the alleged denial of medical treatment by the officials concerned.

Talking to newspersons here today, AIADMK General Secretary and former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa said M Sukumaran, the Panchayat President of Kamanayakanpatti, suffered a severe chest pain while being detained at Salem Central Jail on June eight and died of cardiac arrest, the next day.

She alleged that inspite of repeated plea by the AIADMK partymen to the jail warden and other officials for providing medical treatment to Mr Sukumaran, the latter was denied medical aid and this was in gross violation of human rights.
