3 killed as school bus hits lorry in Tamil Nadu

Tuticorin (Tamil Nadu), June 10: Two children and a man were killedand 22 injured in a collision between a school bus and a lorry atSubramaniyapuram, about ten km from here, yesterday.

Police said as many as 60 children and seven staff members of theSt Josephs Higher Secondary School at Manapad near Tiruchendur of thisdistrict were returning by bus after excursion to Kodaikanal when thevehicle collided with a lorry proceeding towards Theni from TuticorinHarbour.

In the impact, Lorry Driver Muthuraja (50), Nirmala (15) andAbisha (13) were killed on the spot. The injured, including 19 childrenand three staff members of the school, were admitted to a privatehospital here.
