3 killed as school bus hits lorry in TN

Tuticorin, Tamil Nadu, June 10 (UNI) Two children and a man were killed and 22 injured in a collision between a school bus and a lorry at Subramaniyapuram, about ten km from here, yesterday.

Police said as many as 60 children and seven staff members of the St Josephs Higher Secondary School at Manapad near Tiruchendur of this district were returning by bus after excursion to Kodaikanal when the vehicle collided with a lorry proceeding towards Theni from Tuticorin Harbour.

In the impact, Lorry Driver Muthuraja (50), Nirmala (15) and Abisha (13) were killed on the spot. The injured, including 19 children and three staff members of the school, were admitted to a private hospital here.
