Winners should help needy: Chidambaram

Chennai, June 9 (UNI) Referring to India's tremendous economic growth, Union Finance Minister P Chidambaram today urged the beneficiaries of the nation's economic boom to help the people who were left behind.

Addressing the gathering at a function organised here by Rajasthan Cosmo Club Foundation (RCCF) to distribute 11,000 new school uniforms to the needy, Mr Chidambaram said, though India is riding high on several fronts, some sections of the people are left behind.

''It is the duty of those early winners to support those people, who are struggling.'' Appreciating the RCCF for initiating such welfare programmes, the Minister said such measures would help the deprived people of the society.

Polaris Software Lab Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Arun Jain, RCCF Trust Managing Trustee Gautham Kothari were also present on the occasion.
