Suicide attempt charge against former minister

Ujjain, June 9 (UNI) Police registered a case of attempt to commit suicide against former Madhya Pradesh minister and Congress leader Babulal Malaviya.

The case was registered against the former minister following investigation into a complaint of attack on him at his residence last month, Superintendent of Police Jaideep Prasad said today.

Meanwhile, Babulal Malaviya denied the police contention and said he would approach the court. The case was registered in an attempt to harass him while the police had failed to track the attackers, he alleged.

''This is an attempt by my political adversaries to defame me'', the Congress leader said.
