Rs 500 per year honorarium for poll officer

Bhopal, June 9 (UNI) A sum of Rs 500 per year will be given as honorarium to Booth Level Officers (BLO) in Madhya Pradesh for updating the electoral rolls.

This honorarium has been fixed on the directive of the Election Commission, an official spokesman said today.

BLOs appointed by the Commission will also be custodians of electoral rolls of each polling station, the spokesman said.

The state government is also considering to provide additional honorarium to BLOs for the preparation of electoral photo identity cards and work during the photography campaign which started from June 1, 2007.
