Punjab CM calls for protective measures from heat wave
Chandigarh, June 9 (UNI) Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today directed the civil authorities both at the headquarters and in the districts to take all possible measures to ensure protection to the people from the heat wave sweeping the state.
The Chief Minister has asked the Health Department in particular to take all preemptive steps against the danger posed by the sweltering heat wave and to start an immediate mass awareness campaign to educate the people on protective measures.
He directed that special focus must be on protecting the children and the senior citizens who are the most vulnerable in the prevailing conditions.
