Poongothai appeals experts to reduce infertility cost

Coimbatore, Jun 9 (UNI) Tamil Nadu Social Welfare Minister Poongothai Aladi Aruna today appealed to the experts to carry out intense research to reduce the cost for infertility treatment for the benefit of common people.

Handing over the ISO 9001-2000 certificate to the fertility centre of Kovai Medical Centre and Hospital (KMCH) here, she said while male infertility was not considered as problemetic, childless woman felt a tremendous sense of guilt.

While issues surrounding pregnancy, child birth and motherhood were very complex in all societies, infertile couples, particularly women has to undergo stigma, she said.

UNI
