Police rescue girl from marriage trap

Hubli, Jun 9 (UNI) Gadag district police have unearthed a racket involving the sale of young girls in Gujarat under the pretext of marriage, with the arrest of four people, including three from Gujarat.

Acting on a tip off, police arrested the four persons yesterday and rescued a young girl who was being taken to Gujarat to be married off against her wishes.

The arrested were Shantibhai Dadam, Chaman Jadhav and Upendra Bhai, hailing from Jamnagar district of Gujarat, and Gadag resident Vasudev Hunsimarad.
