No rule was violated while filing nomination papers: Jaya

Chennai, Jun 9 (UNI) Opposition AIADMK General Secretary J Jayalalithaa today said that she had not violated any law while filing her nominations papers for the 2006 assembly elections and there was no question of her facing disqualification or her election being set aside.

Reacting to Chief Minister M Karunanidhi's remarks that she had hidden facts about her Kodanadu tea estate in Nilgiris estate, while declaring her assets in the nomination papers, the AIADMK leader, in a statement here, said she had not committed any mistake nor violated any rule or law while filing the papers.

Hence, there was no question of her election from Andipatti assembly constituency being set aside or she would be disqualified from contesting the elections in future, she said.

That she would face disqualification in future was the desire and dream of Mr Karunanidhi, but his dream would not come true, Ms Jayalalithaa said adding that the party workers, who reposed faith in her, need not panic following the disinformation campaign launched by the DMK leader.

Stating that Mr Karunanidhi was raising many questions about the Kodanadu tea estate, Ms Jayalalithaa said she need not reply to him as he had no right to raise such questions. ''I will reply when the authorities concerned raise the questions,'' she said.
