Naval medical teams to assist Kerala in tackling Chikungunya

Kochi, Jun 9 (UNI) The Southern Naval Command will depute two medical teams to assist the authorities in Kottayam and Idukki districts, to contain the outbreak of Chikungunya.

The teams, comprising of 15 members each, including three doctors and para-medical staff, will be fully equipped with required medicines and medical equipment to treat the patients.

They are scheduled to depart from the Naval base by noon tomorrow, a release from the Southern Naval Command said here today.

In addition, the two teams from the Army are also expected to arrive at Thiruvananthapuram to assist other affected districts.

The Southern Naval Command under Commodore S K Mohanty, Command Medical Officer, is coordinating the activities from Kochi.
