Mob vandalises hospital after patient's death

Sultanpur, June 9 (UNI) An agitated mob today vandalised a hospital, following the death of a pregnant woman here.

Wife of Municipal Corporation employee Badkau was admitted to the district hospital after she went into labour late yesterday, police said.

However, the condition of the patient deteriorated after the operation and she succumbed today, allegedly due to post-operative complications.

The woman had given birth to a baby, who according to doctors, was out of danger.

Blaming hospital staff for dereliction of duty, the deceased's family members damaged property of the hospital.

The kins alleged the doctors wanted their palm to be greased, failing which the patient was deprived of better treatment.

The mob could only be brought under control after senior officials reached the spot.

Meanwhile, District Magistrate has directed Additional District Magistrate to investigate the case.
