Man shot at by militants for alleged rape

Imphal, Jun 9 (UNI) People's Liberation Army(PLA) today shot a person on his leg for allegedly raping an 18-year-old girl last evening.

The man was out of danger, police reported.

A spokesman of the outfit stated that the 30-year-old man was involved in the rape and hence punished.

The outfit had further asked the man to transfer half of his property to the girl as compensation and asked his wife and mother to surrender before the outfit.

The outfit charged that the mother and wife duo were present when the alleged rape took place and did nothing to save the girl.
