Helicopter service for Amarnath pilgrims on reduced rates

Srinagar, Jun 9 (UNI) Two aviation companies of the country have decided to operate helicopter service for the Amarnath pilgrims on reduced rates, an official spokesman said.

He said, the companies would fly helicopters on reduced rates as compared to previous years as per the new rates, a pilgrim has to pay Rs 5890 against Rs 7500 charged last year from Baltal to Holy Cave and back.

Similarly from Srinagar to Holy Cave the charges would be Rs 18900 against Rs 20,000 per yatri last year.

The two-month annual pilgrimage will commence from June 30 and will conclude on Rakhsha Bandhan on August 28.
