Haryana: High rush in diploma courses in polytechnics
Chandigarh, Jun 9 (UNI) The Haryana State Counselling Society has witnessed an unprecedented demand for seeking admissions by the students in diploma courses in polytechnics for 13,000 seats in the State during the current academic session.
A spokesman for Haryana Technical Education Department said that as many as 95,419 students had appeared in the examination in 20 cities of Haryana including Chandigarh.
The spokesman said the counselling would be held online and the candidates could participate for online registration and choice filling from June 11, 2007 on the website www.tehadimssion.gov.in.
He said that technical education was very popular in the state in both in the rural as well as urban areas and the unprecedented admission for such diplomas was being witnessed probably because of the enhanced placement in the previous two years for polytechnic pass-outs.
